Description

7.21 Rockbond Tilt Release

7.21  Rockbond Tilt Release is a general-purpose bond breaker for tilt slab construction and other applications where concrete is poured onto concrete.

Rockbond Tilt Release (RB 7.21) is a general-purpose bond breaker that has been designed for tilt slab
construction and other applications where concrete is poured on to concrete. The chemically active
ingredient contains fatty acids and these weak acids react slowly with the alkalies in cement to produce
water-insoluble soaps.

When applied at the recommended dosage, the release agents leave a dry film on the surface of the concrete,
which becomes the release agent. Tilt Release has been used for tilt slab construction on hundreds of projects
around New Zealand and is stocked in 20lt, 200lt or 1000lt options.

SPECIAL PROPERTIES
• Provides a clean and easy release or “strike” without
damage to either the concrete face or bed.
• Has no adverse effect upon the concrete bed or the
concrete surface.
• Will withstand light showers of rain. (However, if a
substantial rain falls, reapply and if in doubt reapply)

USES
• Rockbond TiltRelease (RB 7.21) is an effective panel bond
breaker for tilt slab construction.
• While Tilt Release (RB 7.21) is an effective panel bond
breaker in hot weather it is advisable to use Rockbond
Form Release (RB 7.18) for tilt slab construction.
• Used for sandwich manufacture of precast components.
